EMIRATES FREE INFLIGHT WIFI OFFERING FOR BUSINESS AND FIRST CLASS SKYWARDS MEMBERS
Emirates have announced that they are now offering unlimited free Wi-Fi for Business and First Class passengers who are members of Emirates Skywards frequent flyer program. Business and First passengers just need to input their membership number at the login screen to access the free Wi-Fi.
Business and First Class travellers who are not part of Skywards will have to pay the same amount as those in economy so signing up to Skywards prior to your flight is a good idea if you want to access this free service.
EMIRATES NEW SMART WALLET AT DUBAI AIRPORT
Emirates have now introduced the 'Emirates Smart Wallet' system which will now allow passengers to use their smartphones instead of passports at Dubai International Airport. Instead of scanning your passport at gates, all you will need is your smart phone. The Smart Wallet incorporates your travel data, Emirates ID and passport information along with e-gate data in order to streamline the travel process. The app can now be downloaded from the App store.
SELFIES FOR AIRPORT SECURITY CHECKS AT DUBAI AIRPORT
Emirates have now incorporated new facial recgnition technology to make check-in and immigration processes more efficient at Dubai Airport. Travellers will now be able to upload their biometrics such as a 'selfie' of themselves and use this data to scan through boarding gates throughout Dubai International Airport. The technology will be rolled out over the next 18 months.
